Good jobs pay off!

At work today they held a bit of a graduation party for me and my friend Tia. We're the only graduates who work there and apparently they have a tradition of celebrating. They bought a sheet cake with our names on it (very yummy) and also gave us presents! Here's present number one...

It's from Larry and Debbie (bosses) You can't tell how pretty it is from this picture but it is really beautiful. It's a violet color with a blueish tint to it. It's silver and looks pretty expensive; I was definitely not expecting it!

Next present, from all my fellow employees=]
They asked me and Tia what we wanted, what we would need for college. They said people generally asked for luggage, or something of the sort, so I figured I might join the club and do the same. The brand is American Tourister. It's almost the same as moms, a bit newer. Very nice. I was pleasantly surprised with everything. I certainly wouldn't have gotten any such treatment from Six Shooters and wasn't expecting it from them but hey I won't complain!

A bit of an update

I figured since my senior pictures are out of the way I could start writing about other things =]
My invitations are not quite done but should be super soon. It'll be nice to get those in the mail and have one more thing crossed off my list!

So lets see, the same day I took my senior pictures, I got baptized at church. I've felt so guilty (convicted, more like it) for quite a while so I figured I better just do it. It was pretty amazing. Over 30 people altogether got baptized. From 6 year olds to 50 year olds! very cool. Here's a few pictures

We all had to say a few sentences explaining why we wanted to get baptized. The church was overflowing. If I said I wasn't pretty freaked out, I'd be lying.
Much to my relief, the water was really nice and warm, although it was green (??) We had to walk outside to get back into the church & change, thankfully it was nice outside!

On Friday I got my act score back, a 23! I teared up a bit when I saw it =] Its not the greatest score but I definitely was NOT expecting it! It felt amazing to have something that was stressing me out for months over with! It makes me wonder what my score would have been if I had taken Geometry and Algebra 2. I'll just have to be content with a 23. (which I am!)

I still have quite a bit of school to get done. I have Geometry, British Lit, French(halfway though), a computer class, Child Study, and one more elective. I'll be doing school through June, which thankfully doesn't bother me. I just can't believe I'll actually be DONE!

I'm still working at Larsens 3 days a week, close to a 100 hours a month! I really enjoy it. Every morning this group of about 12 senior citizens come in and have coffee. At first I was terrified of being assigned the job of pouring and repouring their coffee (they all have multiple refills) but now I love it. I've grown to find old people are fascinating; I love listening to them talk. They remember everything I tell them and will ask specific questions about my life or what I've told them previously. They are so eager to listen and tell their stores. I think there is so much we can learn from them. Starting in June my days will be upped to 4. We'll see how that goes!

First post =]

So I figured I better hop on the blog bandwagon. I will be taking senior pictures ( well,  a friend will be) sometime within the next week and I figured this would be the easiest way to display them, see which one's everybody likes best. I'm in the process of finding some good (free) software to make the announcements on. I think I'm going to have one picture, with a little baby picture. I'll have a bible verse (suggestions?!) and the date, time, place, of the open house. All I know is I don't want it to be one of those things where it's really obvious I didn't have it done professionally. I'm pretty excited for all of it though!
