First time in a LIMO!

This past Saturday, me and 6 of my friends went in a limo to a concert in Williston. To backtrack a bit, my friend Alex won a limo for 6 hrs at the after prom party, to use whenever he wanted. A band we all like was playing in Williston so he figured then would be a good time to use it. I didn't take any pictures (which I'm really regretting now) but I did steal this one from a friend. From left to right it is myself, Kyle, Brook, and Hailey. Also in the limo was Marcy, Alex, and Michael.
The ride up was entertaining, as we were all exploring the limo and all the buttons and whatnot it had.
We got to the concert a little after 7. This was the part I was a little apprehensive of, showing up to a concert (which was held in a red barn, literally) in a limo, like we're trying to be all fancy. Sure enough, we pull up, and the headlining band (Midnight Suit, they are actually pretty well know in their genre) is RIGHT by where we we to be dropped off. We all filed out of the limo, and while doing so, the drummer states "Man, you guys show up in a limo, way to one up us" I was so embarrassed. Obviously he was joking, not mad or anything, but still.
3 bands played before Midnight Suit. They were all, surprisingly enough, pretty good. Here's a picture of part of Midnight Suit. Once again, this is one I took from a friend. Man I wish I would have had my camera.

After the concert we went to Subway to grab some food, then headed home. The limo was even more cool on the way home. It had strobe lights inside and since it was dark outside by this time, it was like being inside a club or something of that sort. Needless to say, we were entertained. It was such a fun day and I can now say I have, in fact, been in a limo!

Quick China & school update

I figured it's about time for an update on China and my college courses. Not a whole lot to say about school, except I'm done with my courses for the summer. I really enjoyed them all but it will be nice to get a break. China details are really coming together, the main thing being I am done paying for the trip, 2 and a half months before it even happens. I paid close to half of the money needed myself, out of my own funds, but did not know where I was going to get the rest. My awesome pastor and church board members gave me the opportunity to speak in front on my church about my trip and afterwards they would take up an offering. I was absolutely terrified before going on stage, but once I was up there it really wasn't too scary and I got ALL my funds. Huge huge blessing. So now that that is off my mind, I can focus on preparing for the trip in others ways. I'm SO SO excited - only 67 days till I leave!

Goodbye trampoline :(

My trampoline took (or received?)  its last bounce last night :(
This being the result.
How did it happen? well, after youth group, Alex was dropping me off and Kyle was with him, one of them said they wanted to go jump on the trampoline, so off we went. We were jumping for a while, had a little accident - Kyle pushed Alex, Alex's arm hit the top of my head, HARD, and now I feel like a conehead - then about 5 minutes after that Kyle was jumping and when he came down the trampoline split open. We were all so shocked and just laid there laughing for who knows how long. It was one of the funniest things that has probably ever happened. It was so random. Kyle was the only one not wearing his shoes, and he's not overweight in the least. I think he just jumped at exactly the right spot. I can't imagine how dumb/bad he felt. We kept jumping after that, tearing it open about another foot.
Alex fell through and his leg got caught.
So, no more trampoline, but at least it happened in a VERY memorable way. I still think of the look of complete shock on his face and burst into laughter.

Keeping busy

I really need to keep up with posting on here, I just get so distracted and busy and by the time I get around to it, so many things have happened. I've been slacking with taking pictures but I can give a written update of my life.

I'll start off with..work. Still working 2 jobs, an average of 25 hrs or so a week. Those days are normally all put together so it often ends up being 2 days in a row of 12 hrs each. A little crazy but at least I get it out of the way. I'm also babysitting my friends' niece one day a week from 10am-5pm.

School is going good, coming to an end. Finals are the week of May 11th - 15th. I have to write 2 papers and do a PowerPoint presentation. Only one class doesn't have a final, just the usual exam. I've learned a lot, enjoyed it for the most part, but will be very happy to have one stress eliminated.

My trip to China is creeping up on me - only 3 and a half months away! - and I'm starting to get prepared. I will be getting an e-mail this week with information about everyone else going (I found out there are 19 people going) so we can start to get to know each other beforehand. I'm excited for that. I have to make my first of 3 $900 deposits before May 1st. Also, I have to apply for a visa. Not quite sure what one is, I just know that I need one :) I'll have to book my flight to/from Newark NJ soon too. That's been a little stressful. This trip will definitely be a HUGE growing experience for me. Even going on a plane alone is out of my comfort zone. I also found out that we fly into Beijing. That is something I'm VERY excited about. I've been researching Beijing, it has pretty much all Chinese things you would want to see visiting there: the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, the Summar Palace, the Forbidden City, and so many other amazing places. We are going to be sightseeing so hopefully I will get to see a few of them!

Apart from those three things - work, school, and the china trip - I've been keeping busy with church and friends. Our youth group has really been growing lately, it's been neat to see it happening. We have some exciting things planned for the summer, I can't wait! The weather is finally warming up, thank goodness. My friend Kayla and I have been going on walks lately, it's so refreshing to be outside. I just went to the badlands yesterday with my friends Alex and Kyle, and that was the 2nd time in a week! It's so nice to be close (14 miles) to the badlands. They're so pretty and hiking is quickly becoming one of my top hobbies.

To sum things up, life is good! :)
